We began working with the Ecofabulous team in March of 2008 on a revamp of their blog. In our initial discovery discussions, they noted a strong desire to move beyond a typical blog layout to something that felt more like a magazine – something more visually engaging and dynamic, that would allow them more flexibility in terms of the display of their content. We eventually landed on this format which allows for a single featured post and smaller, more chronologically-ordered post snippets below. Visually the direction is beautiful, modern and chic, with a rich color palette and abundant visual flourishes offsetting the otherwise clean, open aesthetic.
Before this redesign, Ecofabulous was limited by the constraints of the TypePad platform both in terms of function and form. We are strong proponents of the WordPress platform, and using it we were able to create an incredibly flexible and attractive blog that has been going strong since our launch in November 2008.
